We hope this provides you with important information to support your child's learning this year.

What we will be learning this Summer Term 2026....

 

This term’s enquiry question is:
Which monarch had the biggest influence on life today?

 

This is what we will be learning about in each subject area:

English: NARRATIVE: Character description, NON-NARRATIVE: Non-Chronological report. NARRATIVE: Dialogue to advance action and convey character

Maths: Arithmetic, Algebra, Ratio and Proportion, Problem Solving and Reasoning

Science: Electricity

Computing: Microbits

RE:  How do beliefs shape identity for muslims?

Geography: Cities in Baghdad

History:  Changes in monarchy; A non-European society that provides contrasts with British history – Early Islamic civilisation

Art:  William Morris 

DT: Build a mechanical structure from wood adding an electrical circuit

Music: Perform using the voice and the ukulele with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression

French: Days of the week, Months of the year and Happy Birthday

PE: Rounders, Cricket and OAA

Life skills: Financial Planning, Transition, Road Safety

 

How you can help your child with their learning:

  • Use the Knowledge Organiser (at the bottom of this page) to help your child learn the information we are exploring in class.
  • Continue to read and sign reading diaries to achieve merits - these will be stamped weekly. Reading is such an important aspect in our learning!
  • Help your child with their times tables – Times Tables Rockstars.

 

Other things to remember:

  • We will be doing PE on Mondays and Fridays. Please make sure your child comes to school in their kit for this day.
  • After half term, the children will also have Forest School sessions on Tuesday afternoons.
  • PE will be outside when possible, so they will need to wear something appropriate to the weather.

  • Children need to remove earrings for PE lessons.

  • Hair needs to be tied back at all times.

  • Please remember to name all school uniform.

  • Please ensure your child has a water bottle.

  • No make-up, jewellery or nail varnish for school.

    • w.b. 18th May – SPORTS WEEK
    • Thursday 21st May – Reception to Year 6 Sports Day
    • 23rd – 31st May – HALF TERM HOLIDAY
    • Wednesday 17th - Friday 19th June - Year 6 residential to Eaton Vale
    • Friday 10th July - Year 6 leavers assembly
    • Thursday 16th July - Last day of the school year
