We hope this provides you with important information to support your child's learning this year.

What we will be learning this Spring Term 2026...

 

This term’s enquiry question is:
Is War Ever Right?

 

This is what we will be learning about in each subject area:

English: Flashback - The Piano, Discursive text - Should Children Have Been Evacuated? Characterising Speech, Informal Letter - Goodnight Mr. Tom.

Maths: Fractions, Decimals and Percentages, converting units, shape, area, perimeter and volume and statistics

Science: The Circulatory System and Light

Computing: 3D Modelling and variables in games

RE: How and why does religion bring peace and conflict? How do Buddhists explain suffering in the world?

Geography: Countries and continents linked to WWII

Art:  Patrick Heron - Natural Form (Paint)

DT: Cooking

Music: Elements/Rhythm/ Patterns - Singing/Djembes/ sticks . Pitch/Melody/Harmony - Keyboards/tuned percussion

French: Days of the week, Months of the year, Pets

PE: Dance and gymnastics

Life skills: Relationships and sex education

 

How you can help your child with their learning:

  • Use the Knowledge Organiser (at the bottom of this page) to help your child learn the information we are exploring in class.
  • Continue to read and sign reading diaries to achieve merits - these will be stamped weekly. Reading is such an important aspect in our learning!
  • Help your child with their times tables – Times Tables Rockstars. 

 

Other things to remember:

  • We will be doing PE on Mondays and Thursdays. Please make sure your child comes to school in their kit for this day.
  • PE will be outside when possible, so they will need to wear something appropriate to the weather.

  • Children need to remove earrings for PE lessons.

  • Hair needs to be tied back at all times.

  • Please remember to name all school uniform.

  • Please ensure your child has a water bottle.

  • No make-up or nail varnish for school. 

  • As the weather changes children may need a change of footwear including socks for break/lunch as we will be outside on the grass.

  • Wednesday 25th March - Parent/Teacher progress review meetings
  • Thursday 26th March - Easter Celebration, 9.15am @ All Saints Church
  • Friday 27th March - Last day of spring term
