How you can help your child with their learning:
- Use the Knowledge Organisers (at the bottom of this page) to help your child learn the information we are exploring this term.
- Hear your child read and ask him/her questions about the story. Take time to discuss and celebrate their book choices (from home or school) and please continue to read to your child too!
- Reading books can be changed in our school library every Wednesday and we will be collecting in the children’s Reading Records on Fridays. We will reward every 10 reading stamps with a merit. Big Cat books can be changed in class any day.
- Practise times tables with your child – please use TT Rockstars to help with this!
- Ensure they complete home learning tasks. Spellings will be given out each Monday via Teams (and also often on paper). The other priorities continue to be reading and times tables!
- Check out our class twitter account @NectonY4 for updates and photos of our learning.
- If you can spare any time to volunteer to hear children read at school then please us know!
Other things to remember:
- This term, our PE sessions will be on Mondays and Fridays. Please make sure your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days each week.
- Apart from gym, PE will be outside whenever possible, so they will need to wear something appropriate for all weathers.
- Children need to have earrings removed for PE lessons, or taped if they can't be removed.
- Please name all school uniform.
- Please ensure your child has a water bottle every day.
- Please ensure long hair is tied back at all times.
- Children should also have a change of footwear (and socks) for break/lunch as they will be outside on the grass.
