Mr Mark Hodder
Having grown up in Southampton, I relocated to Norwich to begin my degree in Geophysical Sciences at UEA in 2003… and have lived in Norfolk ever since! Following my degree, I was a teaching assistant for one year and then completed my PGCE at UEA, becoming a qualified teacher in 2008. Since then, I have worked in schools in a variety of different settings, and have gained experience as a Subject Leader, Year Group Leader, Key Stage Leader, a member of the school Senior Leadership Team and now as a Deputy Headteacher. I am also a director of a charitable company based in Norwich and a keen Southampton football fan.
Mrs Vicki Long
I moved from South London to Norfolk to begin my teaching career. My career to date has been enriched by a wonderful array of experiences working in a number of different leadership roles. In January 2019, I was thrilled to commence my Headship here at Necton VA Primary School. I am also a musician and enjoy playing my Violin as a member of the Music Group at St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral, Norwich.
Mr Zsolt Fejer
I was born and grew up in Hungary. I moved to the UK with my wife in 2010 and after some time in London we moved with our little son, to Necton in 2021. Apart from a few years when I was working with horses, I have spent my entire career in IT. I started as a developer, I was an ICT teacher for a few years and then moved to systems administration. Currently, I am working in a major bank as DevOps Engineer. Our son started primary school here and I became parent governor in 2023.

Mrs Jane Barley
I moved to Norfolk in 1991 from Cambridgeshire. I am a midwife and for ten years worked on the community in Swaffham and surrounding area before moving back into the hospital for a career change. I came to know the area and surrounding villages very well. I became a Governor at Necton middle School in 2000 when my daughter started school there and I continued as a Governor through the transition to becoming a Primary school. The role of a school Governor has changed dramatically over the last few years and I have enjoyed the challenge of this role. I have learnt a lot about education and the changing demands upon families and children. I took on the role of Vice Chair in 2016 and became Chair of Governors in 2017. It is a role that I am passionate about and want to be able to ensure that we provide the best for our children.
Mr Peter Simpson
As a keen birder and wildlife photographer I made regular visits to Norfolk many years before finally moving from Hertfordshire to Necton, in 2002. I worked for the RSPB in Norwich before stopping work to look after my children. My children have all attended Necton school, since 2003 and I joined the governing board in 2017. I monitor the school curriculum and standards and have a particular interest in science and religious education.

Mr Barry Smith
I am a qualified accountant with our 25 years of experience working in both small companies and large corporate organisations. Specialising in budgets, forecasts and general management. I have a keen eye for detail and love to add value and go the extra mile when collaborating with others to find the most efficient and effective solutions to our common goals. My family and I moved into the area just 3 years ago, so I was pleased to be given the opportunity to share my expertise with the school and look forward to watching it grow and prosper over the coming years and have served as a governor since 2025.
