Necton Church of England Primary School

Safeguarding and Children's Welfare

The education, welfare and happiness of the children at our school are of paramount importance and we take safeguarding very seriously.

All children are in the charge of a class teacher who has responsibility for their well-being. We would appreciate you informing us of any changes in family circumstances which may affect your child’s attitude in school. We require an emergency contact number in case of accident or illness.

The school acknowledges its responsibility to help to protect children and follows procedures laid down by the Norfolk Area Local Safeguarding Children Board in order to ensure that all children are protected from abuse.

Safeguarding all children in our care is our highest priority.

Please take a moment to watch this short clip to understand more about how this happens in Norfolk.  We are complemented by staff in a number of different roles who help us to ensure that our children fully are safeguarded and get the best personal development support they can.  We work in close alignment with local strategies and systems to safeguard the welfare and well-being of all children.

Who should I speak to at school if I am concerned about a child's welfare?

We have four Designated Safeguarding Leaders in our school. Mrs Long is the Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead. Mr Hodder and Miss Palmer and are also Designated Safeguarding Leads.  Each of these members of staff will be happy to help and support you with sensitivity and discretion.

If you are concerned about the safety of a child please contact a member of our safeguarding team immediately (Mrs Long, Mr Hodder, Miss Palmer) or speak directly to Children’s Services (0344 800 8020).
