Welcome to the Nursery (Acorn Class) page.

We hope this provides you with important information to support your child's learning this year.

Please do get in contact if there is anything that we can help you with.

How you can help your child with their learning:

  • Observations of your child's learning will be sent to you via Tapestry.  Please check each week for an update of your child's learning and progress. An email will be sent out soon to activate your Tapestry account if you do not already have one set up.

  • Sing Nursery rhymes.
  • Read stories
  • Play number and counting games.

If you have any concerns about your child's development please speak to your child's key worker. There is also lots of useful information on the website

Other things to remember:

  • Uniform  - please try to send your child in school colours of blue tops, white T-shirts, black bottoms (leggings and jogging bottoms are fine) but there is no expectation for the nursery children to have the logo school uniform. The most important thing is that the children have comfortable clothes that they can manage themselves when going to the toilet. Shoes such as trainers are ideal as the children will be running and playing outside every day. Please only send your child with velcro or buckle shoes and not shoe laces. The children may get wet and muddy in the current weather so it is a good idea to have spares in their bag.
  • Your child will need a coat that is suitable for wet and cold weather every day.
  • Please send a pair of welly boots that can be kept at school please so that your child can access the outdoors in all weather.
  • Your child will need a water bottle each day (water only please).
  • We will be doing PE on Monday mornings. Please note that children cannot take part in PE if they are wearing earrings, so please remove any earrings before your child comes to Nursery.
  • We will also be taking part in Forest School activities on Monday afternoons. The children will be provided with waterproof overalls so no extra clothing is needed to be brought in for this.
