NELI PRE-SCHOOL
We are very excited to start our 20 week oral language intervention for all children aged 3-4 to support vocabulary and narrative skills.
We will be reading a specially chosen story book each week and learn 4 or 5 'special words' based on the story.
Look out for the 'NeliHome' learning sheet each week!
How you can help your child with their learning:
-
Observations of your child's learning will be sent to you via Tapestry. Please check each week for an update of your child's learning and progress
- Sing Nursery rhymes
- Read stories
- Play number and counting games
If you have any concerns about your child's development please speak to your child's key worker. There is also lots of useful information on the website https://www.justonenorfolk.nhs.uk/

Other things to remember:
- Uniform - please try to send your child in school colours of blue tops, white T-shirts, black bottoms (leggings and jogging bottoms are fine) but there is no expectation for the nursery children to have the logo school uniform. The most important thing is that the children have comfortable clothes that they can manage themselves when going to the toilet. Shoes such as trainers are ideal as the children will be running and playing outside every day. Please only send your child with velcro or slip on shoes and not shoe laces. The children may get wet and muddy in the current weather so it is a good idea to have spares in their bag.
- Your child will need a coat that is suitable for wet and cold weather every day.
- Please send a pair of welly boots that can be kept at school please so that your child can access the outdoors in all weather.
- Your child will need a water bottle each day (water only please).
- We will be doing PE on Tuesday morning. Please note that children cannot take part in PE if they are wearing earrings, so please remove any earrings before your child comes to Nursery.
- We will also be taking part in Forest School activities on Friday mornings. The children will be provided with waterproof overalls so no extra clothing is needed to be brought in for this. Please do provide spare clothes and bags to put any wet/dirty clothing in.
- A daily snack of fruit and vegetables will be provided so no extra snacks are needed. We offer additional snacks of toast/biscuits and milk for 50p a session. Please speak to a member of staff if you are interested in your child receiving this.
